Andrea Palmer is founder and CEO of Awake Labs, an autism health company committed to empowering those living on the autism spectrum. As an inventor, Palmer developed Reveal, a wearable that measures and tracks physiological signals in real time to help autistic people and their caregivers understand changes in behaviour.
Palmer holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in mechanical engineering with a minor in commerce from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She also completed the Graduate Studies Program from Singularity University. Palmer is dedicated to developing strong entrepreneurial communities and currently mentors teams of young entrepreneurs at UBC.
Palmer has received Startup Canada’s Young Entrepreneur Award (2016), the Next 36 Satchu Prize and Outstanding Venture Award (2016), the Vancouver Board of Trade’s Wendy MacDonald Award for Women of Promise (2016), The UBC Faculty of Applied Science Dean’s Medal of Distinction (2016), the UBC Engineering Outstanding Future Alumnus Award (2015) and the Canadian Global Impact Competition (2015) for her work with Awake Labs.
